In March 1998, the City of South Pasadena retained the services of Godbe Research & Analysis to conduct a telephone survey of 400 South Pasadena voters concerning the 710 Freeway. When asked if they supported or opposed construction of the 710 Freeway through the center of South Pasadena, 80% indicated opposition to such construction. About 17% indicated that they supported construction of the 710 Freeway in South Pasadena. This means that South Pasadena voters expressing an opinion opposed to construction of the 710 Freeway through the center of the city at about a 5 to 1 ratio.
